At Predella House, we are curating art for the culturally curious. We are committed to supporting contemporary art and it's creators. Here you'll find updates of all current and upcoming events.
Mulling over issues of consumerism, consumption and waste, the now-distinguished contemporary artist Robi Walters turned to his overflowing recycling box. Taking namely cardboard packaging, Walters painstakingly carved out thousands of lotus petal shapes. Each petal, boasting a vibrant burst of colour, is carefully arranged in a swirling vortex of explosive energy. The same energy that gives Walters’ work a nod to pop art, and the same energy we might anticipate at a party at the artist’s studio. On the evening of Tuesday 12th December, Robi Walters opens the doors to his new studio, in the very heart of Soho, to celebrate the year’s end.
The event marks an exciting moment for the artist by launching his new space: 12 Ingestre Place will act as a showroom for the artist in the new year. Attendance to the showroom in 2018 will by appointment-only. Teasing the traditional romance that surrounds the artist’s studio, Walters’ intimate arena of creativity will not deliver a quiet and solitary painter at his easel. The evening will be festive, fun and loud: the ultimate celebration of life. This will be echoed by the exuberant and punchy colours that will flaunt the studio walls and have crowned the artist with popularity thus far in his career - of course, Walters will showcase a selection of fantastic new works, yet to be seen by the public eye. The display will be curated by Predella House. Featuring notably amongst the works on display is the artist’s highly anticipated new commission: an Eden Sparkling Wine Limited Edition Casket. The collaboration is particularly important with artist and the Edenists alike sharing a love of celebration, a spirit of rebellion, and an ardent embrace of life. The original artwork for the box will be the objective of a silent auction over the course of the evening.
The artist is thrilled to invite the Edenists to join in the festivities and host the ultimate wine sampling experience for the evening. The event will take place on Tuesday 12th December from 18.30pm, at 12 Ingestre Place, W1F OJF (nearest tube stations are Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Circus). Predella House is extremely excited to be working with the truly talented artist Lawrence Calver. His practice involves the use of textiles to explore themes and aesthetics of contemporary fine art. The wonderful Gail Olding is the one and only sculptor we represent at Predella House. Gail Olding works across media investigating the point at which language collapses and the possibility of working outside the field of language begins. Her work often disrupts and disquietens in an attempt to question systems of communication. To find our more for purchasing work get in touch
We are thrilled to be representing and working with the marvellous creator Adelaide Damoah. Her fascinating interview series 'Art Discussions' works with visual artists and seeks to explore how artists overcome the challenges they face in their careers and go on to achieve their goals.
